Hello, I'm looking for someone to draw a digital art cover. Look at some of my favorites for examples. This will be for a novel I'm trying to write whether it's a graphic novel or just a novel. Down the road, if we click I would put the art on a website once I get going with this novel. If you are interested contact me here or better on twitter @QuestForKepler please let me know your prices. Thank you for your time. Carlos

Watching

I don't expect anyone to follow me or watch me. I can't draw. If you want me to follow you or watch you just send a note it doesn't matter what skill level you are.

I tried copying and pasting, but it deosn't work. Do I just have to write down the name and type it? I'm so used to e-mail. Also is there something else I need to put? Like the mail examples: @.com

did you ever get an artist? im not that good but i might read your comic if it came out.
generally made this as something atractive for me but heres my orc [link]
o agree with napashini if you are selling him your art and copyright it becomes his and he can use it as he pleases without giving credit he just cannot claim he made it. but you would not be able to post or use the comission yourself ever. its a reasonable rule considering you are making something for your customer your not leasing it. im an artist i would not find any of the rules offensive. It is how many graphic designers work... they sell their art and have no more claim to their creations. btw mr napashini if you ever want to keep someones art along with the copyright you need to make sure you get proof of agreement your you could get ur arse sued ^_^ some people have no backbone i guess
Yes, as =vengeofthestars said, what kind of work are you looking for? I do mostly anthro/animal work, but my examples are here and my prices and Terms of Service are here!~ :)

Thanks for contacting me~
Artists have rules and so do commissioners. I will not pay anyone unless I see your style. I need to see a rough sketch of an orc, sorcerer, gladiator or a dragon. I have a lot of work that needs to be done so I will be a picky/bitchy as the artists who want the work. If I buy the work from you it becomes mine and I will have it protected and will sell it at my owndiscretion without having to ask anyone for permission. If you'd like to draw for free then that's different. My money will be raised through Kickstarter and some of the images will be places on t-shirts for perks for the contributors. This will be a great opportunity for any artist needless to say.

Thank you for your time.

Um, I don't mean to offend, but there are a myriad of things the matter with your response:

1. Artists will not want to work with you if you don't treat them with respect, or act like they're your employees.

2. Artists will most likely not just make you a free sketch to show you how good they are; they have their own examples, look at those to discern if you like their skill level.

3. "If I buy the work from you it becomes mine and I will have it protected and will sell it at my owndiscretion without having to ask anyone for permission"

No. NOBODY is going to just give you work so you can sell it as your own, you would have to get permission and give proper credit to the artist, or suffer copyright/ theft laws.

Again, just a piece of advice, you will not get anywhere in the art world, or acquire any strong ties with artists, if you treat them as your art slaves. Yes, artists and commissioners both have rules, but you need to realize that both persons' rules are equal and should be treated as such.

Thank you for your time, but I am not looking to "collaborate" with you, at this time. :)
